I’m Sarah Carrette, a freelance proofreader and editor based in beautiful North Yorkshire.
Words have been a passion all my life, whether that’s reading, writing or editing.
After completing professional proofreading training, I set up my freelance proofreading business after working for 30 years in the private, public and third sectors in a variety of roles including information management, project management, internal communications and content management. In that time I gained significant experience of writing, proofreading and editing a wide range of content.

No two projects are the same and that’s why pricing will vary according to the type and amount of text and the kind of work you would like doing. For example, text that is ready for a final proofread will require less work than text that is complex or needs editing for clarity or readability.
To provide an accurate quote, I will usually ask to see a sample of the text. I will proofread the sample and return it to you with a free, no-obligation quote for the whole project.
